Vocational Track
Schools should have a vocational track for the fact it helps certain students who wish to not attend college. Both comprehensive schools and vocational tracks focus on essential skills and knowledge one will need in the future. Students should have a choice for the future, and if they believe vocational tracks will exceed their needs compared to a college prepatory school, then they should attend one. College is not a place for everyone. Some people have dreams have being a mechanic, a make-up artist, and hair stylist. College does not offer courses in those topics. Also, not everyone makes the best grades in high school, so why would they go on to college to most likely flunk out and waste money on college in the first place. Not only does vocational tracks teach students the job skills needed, but also teaches them interview skills. Vocational tracks is a great idea for comprehensive schools because it gives other students a second option for their future. I think whatever motivates a student to do something for their future should not be suppressed, but appreciated.
Dolls
Being a parent, everything is a threat to your children, now even dolls. If a toy misrepresented my values I would most certainly not buy it for my child. It's a very complex issue since most parents seek to please their children and give them the world. Seeing how a child's happiness is key to their own happiness, some parents might overlook what a toy represents. Parents should teach thier children that their outward appearance is not the most important thing in life and they shouldn't change themselves and that Barbie is not true beauty. Young girls should look to other more strong woman to empower them, not Barbie. There are tons of Barbies on the market today, even Barbies with tattoos. I don't think tattoos should be in the mind of a five year old or a ten year old. As time increases, dolls and other toys are becoming more inappropriate and teaching children the wrong things and morals. In conclusion, if a doll misrepresented my values, I would not buy it for my child.
Handguns
Owning a gun is a right to all American detailed in the Bill of Rights of the constitution. Though, times have changes since the constitution has been written, I still believe the handguns should be legal. Every citizen has rights as an American to own a gun and possess one in their posession. If handguns make people feel more protected, then they should be able to own one. Many people view handguns as weapons of destruction and murder, but they are not; they are a form of protection and security for people who are helpless. Not everyone develops schemes to murder others when buying a handgun. If handguns were illegal, people would still find a way to import handguns into the country just as they do with illegal drugs. Violence is never the answer, but it is a part of life that happens and will continue to happen. Making handguns illegal would probably ignite riots throughout the country. If handguns were made illegal, people would find an alternative to murdering people that could even be worse. I do not think handguns should be illegal, but there could more strict laws for people buying them. If we could not own a gun, that is taking a right away from citizens and it the government would have complete control over guns. When it comes to handguns, before purchasing them people should be knowledgable, cautious, safe and prepared for anything.
